The Government of Amazonas has contracted Social Solutions Tecnologia to conduct technical studies for the launch of state lotteries, with a completion timeline of one year. This move follows the approval of Law 5,749 in December 2021, legalising state lotteries to generate non-tax revenue to support socially significant initiatives.
The study will explore the optimal structuring and operational approach for the lottery across Amazonas' 62 municipalities, assessing technical, financial, and risk aspects. The State Department of Finance (Sefaz) will oversee the management and execution of the lotteries, including awarding a public concession through competitive bidding. This initiative is anticipated to drive economic development and enhance public policies in Amazonas's health and safety sectors.
A recent study sheds light on the distribution between men and women among online bettors in the country, revealing that 16.8% of Brazilian bettors are female. The research highlights that for every six bettors, one is female, showing a significant female presence in the Brazilian betting community.
The study also provides detailed demographics, showing that most bettors are between 30 and 39 years old, with a significant portion having completed high school. Regarding betting frequency, 41% of respondents bet two to four times a week, unsurprisingly football being the preferred sport. The research indicates growth in the relationship between women and sports betting in Latam, suggesting that targeted advertising and investments in women's sports could enhance brand empathy and attract new customers.

Ochoa highlighted the global interest in Mexico's gaming sector, with over 100 potential investors ready to contribute.
